For one day only, Vanguard will be taking over Tough Mudder’s London South 5km course. Consisting of a series of muddy obstacles, you’ll need to work as a team to overcome them - whether your colleagues or ours. You can find out more by visiting the Tough Mudder website.

The Vanguard Tough Mudder Takeover is not a race. The event is a personal challenge with the goal of overcoming obstacles and completing the course, with a team. We will however have some unique prizes up for grabs on the day.

The course is 5km, average time to complete is 1–2 hours.

The route itself is 5km but any all-out sprinting (or jogging…or walking…these events aren’t timed, you can go at your own pace) will be broken up by 13 obstacles. But want to raise your running game? Be our guest.

This event is for industry-professionals only, based in the UK - unfortunately, this is not an event for end-clients. Please do feel free to invite your colleagues along though, the more the merrier! If anyone wants to spectate and not participate, you're also very welcome - you will still need to sign up.

Step 1 


Using your professional email address, fill in a short form on the Vanguard website. 



You must complete this step first, even if you already have a Tough Mudder account.

Step 2 


We’ll send you an email with a unique ID number and a link to register with Tough Mudder.

Step 3 


Complete the registration form on Tough Mudder. This is where captains can set up teams, and indivuduals can join a team. 



Bring your ID


You’ll need government ID to access the grounds on the day, please don’t forget it!

First appoint a team captain - this person will be able to set up your team on the Tough Mudder site. Then, when you register yourself, you can search the name of the team from the dropdown. There is no limit on the number of people who can join a team.

Yes! You can register as an indivual and join Team Vanguard. Our crew will be hand to help you over all the obstacles.

Yes! We welcome supporters and have designated spectator spots dotted around the course. You will still need to register for the event in the usual way.

As this is an event for investment professionals only, we will use your email address to validate your registration.

You can do this via your Tough Mudder account, please also email events.europe@vanguard.co.uk.

Vanguard will cover the participation cost of the event. For declaration purposes, the indicative value is approximately £100 per person.

Vanguard will cover your event participation and provide food and drink vouchers on the day.

There will be shuttle buses running to and from Three Bridges Train Station before and after the event. First bus to leave the train station will be 9:45am and will follow every ten minutes, until 11.30am. Buses will be ready to leave when the first wave of runners finish the course.

Yes. Please book your parking space when completing your Tough Mudder registration. Parking will be free of charge.

Join us any time from 10am, but please arrive for an 11am start with the first wave of runners setting off shortly after. Once you cross the finish line, grab a drink and lunch on us. All participants will be expected to leave the grounds by 3:30pm.

There will be no designated wave start times. 'Competers' - those in it to win it, will be invited into the first wave, which is due to set off around 11.15am. Waves of 250 will then follow every 10 minutes until all runners have left the starting pen.

1. A good pair of running shoes (that you’re not too attached to) with good cushioning, traction, and drainage. 


2. Form-fitting, light weight, breathable gear (always check the weather and adjust accordingly).

And if you want your peers to know who you are, wear your company colours loud and proud.
